Uygur Yilmaz

Uygur Yilmaz (Mersin, 1975) é uma artista da fotografia autodidata, que vive e trabalha em Istambul. A maior parte do seu trabalho centra-se na tensão entre o abstrato e a realidade, banal e poética. Recentes exposições individuais: Missing Parts, Galerist, Istanbul, 2009; We Are Cold, Apartment Project, Istanbul, 2006. Selected group exhibitions include İyi Saatte Olsunlar, Sümerbank, Istanbul, 2009; Lets Face It, LPA, London, 2008;  AOP Open, The AOP Gallery, London, 2008;  Airpocket, Galerist, Istanbul, 2007. Selected Awards: PX3 Paris, Category 3rd prize, 2010; AOP Open, 1st Prize, 2008;  London Photographic Association, 1st Prize, 2008; PX3 Paris, Category 2nd Prize, 2008; IPA New York, Category 2nd Prize, 2005. He also published two poetry books of short and experimental pieces.
